Robert Lloyd

Robert E. Lloyd, age 81 of Columbus, formerly of St. Edward, Nebraska died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Del Lape officiating. Visitation is 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Anthony Church. Visitation continues Monday morning from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. at McKown Funeral Home. Burial is in the All Saints Cemetery in Columbus with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Robert E. Lloyd was born March 8, 1926 in Monroe, Nebraska to Evan and Annabelle (Leggat) Lloyd. He graduated from Genoa High School in 1943. Robert served in the U.S. Army from April 1945 to October 1946. He married Jeannette Haferland on November 10, 1954 at St Francis Church in Humphrey. The couple farmed in the St. Edward Community before moving to Columbus in May of 2002. Robert was a member of the St Edward American Legion Post #0226. He enjoyed watching baseball and spending time with his grandchildren.
