Bob Lindhorst died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
Robert "Bob" Lindhorst was born December 8, 1927 in Creighton, Nebraska to Joseph and Minnie (Wiese) Lindhorst. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War from February 1951 - February 1954. On August 18, 1952 Bob was united in marriage to Alma Backes at Holy Family Church in Lindsay, Nebraska. Bob farmed until 1975 when the couple moved to Columbus. He then started his own Fertilizer/Ag Retail Business, Abel Inc. Bob took great pride in serving his customers. He received numerous awards for outstanding fertilizer sales and customer service from NaChurs Plant Food Company. He was a member of St. Isidore Church where he served as EME, Hartman Post #84 American Legion and the V.F.W. #3704. He helped found the Korean Veterans Reunion Organization in Nebraska. Bob enjoyed gardening, raising roses, playing cards and listening to all kinds of music especially polkas. He was a member of the Pawnee Golden Oldies Band. Bob loved spending time with his family. He never missed sending out a card to a family member on special occasions.
