Robert &Quot;Bob&Quot; Gross

Robert H. "Bob" Gross, age 77 of Columbus, died Monday, November 14, 2005 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Miksch will officiate. Visitation is Tuesday 4-8 pm at the McKown Funeral Home. A vigil will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning 8-10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in the Roselawn Cemetery.

Robert H. "Bob" Gross was born December 29, 1927 in David City, Nebraska to Dr. Herman and M. Leone Gross. He was raised in David City where he graduated from David City High in 1945. After serving in the United States Army, he was a telephone equipment installer for Western Electric in Denver, Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa and Eloy, Arizona. He married Linda K. Powers on June 7, 1951 in Tucson. His daughter Linda was born July 21, 1952. After a 15 year career with Tucson Gas & Electric, He returned to Nebraska in 1969. He was a programmer for John Korgie's Data Center of Nebraska, advertising sales rep for Sam Peppler's Pawnee Scout, and circulation manager for Columbus Area Choice before retiring in 2001. He has been a friend of Bill W.'s since January 1988.
