Robert Fetty was born September 25, 1922 in Omaha, NE to William and Leta (Harris) Fetty. He received his education in Beatrice before going to work as a hired hand on a farm near Garrison, NE. Bob married Palma Brockevelt on June 7, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. He continued to farm in Colfax County for 7 years. Bob went to work for Forney Arc Welding in Beatrice before moving to Columbus in 1959 where he worked as a sales representative for Hudson Equipment. He then worked for Columbus Steel for several years and later began manufacturing cleaning chemicals for automobiles and packing houses until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, fishing, and working in his shop making bird feeder stands.
