Robert Joseph Brichacek, 71, died Wed., Nov 5. 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born Aug 12, 1943 to Joseph M. & Lillian D. (Richtig) Brichacek of Clarkson, Ne. He attended District school #28 and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1961. While in 4-H he garnered many ribbons and awards for his purebred hogs at county and state fairs and Aksarben. He bought the family's first tv with profits from his first hogs. In 1966 he graduated from UNL with a degree in BSEE and started his career with B-D & Co. as an electrical engineer moving up to engineering manager before retiring after 34 years. As a member of the NE National Guard he served as leader of the Communications section.
On May 13, 1967 he married Ruth Ann Dicke at Heun Holy Trinity Church. They enjoyed traveling especially to Europe which included taking stamp collections to Stockholm and Paris for exhibitions. He especially enjoyed his time with grandchildren and entertaining his card groups.
He enjoyed several business ventures including a wholesale and retail fireworks business, Technik Mfg., and Space Rentals. Throughout his life he nurtured interest in various topics: hunting, fishing, photography, wine making, history, card playing, traveling and philately, earning many awards especially on his Columbian Exhibition of 1893 collection. He had just completed writing his third book and took great pride in leading the construction committee building St. Isidores new church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
