Rita M. Tate, 89, of Genoa, died on Friday, August 1, 2025 in Genoa.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Thursday, August 7 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa. Visitation is from 5:00- 7 pm Wednesday with a 7:00 pm Vigil to follow, all at Church. Burial is in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Krakow, NE.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later time.
Rita was born on January 23, 1936, in Genoa, Nebraska, to John and Mary (Czarnick) Kush. She grew up and received her education in rural Genoa. She later received her teaching degree from Kearney State Teachers College. She went on to teach at rural schools within the community. On April 15, 1972, Rita was united in marriage to Bud Tate at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She worked at D&L from 1967-1979 and NPPD for 15 years before retiring in 1995. Rita enjoyed family, friends, baking, gardening, genealogy, sports, and staying active- especially running and taking long walks with Bud.
