Ricky Wood

Ricky Wood of Duncan died Sunday, April 6 at Columbus Community Hospital.

A Celebration of Ricky's Faith and Life will be 11:00 am Friday, April 11, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus.  Visitation is on Thursday from 4-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home and continues on Friday from 10-11 am at the Church.  Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Ricky was born September 11, 1950 in Lexington, NE to Lyle and Fern (Churchill) Wood. He grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School.  Ricky was drafted in to the Army and served during Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
Ricky moved to Columbus where he worked at Cargill, drove truck, worked in maintenance at Mory's Haven, and helped teach auto mechanics at CCC. Ricky loved camping, boating, riding motorcycles, 4 wheeling, and helping everyone fix what needed to be done.

Grandson Jerod Rose of Lincoln
Granddaughter Raven Carlson of Columbus
Grandson Devin Rose
4 Great Grandchildren: Maggie Finkral, Braylen Anthony, Ryder Carlson, and Abbie Anthony
Sister Sherene (Bill) Morris of Leigh
