Richard Ziemba

Richard Ziemba, age 77, of rural Osceola, died Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard. All CDC guidelines will be followed. Masks are required.

Richard was born March 25, 1943 in Genoa, Nebraska to Frank and Victoria (Stec) Ziemba. He graduated from Osceola High in 1961. He entered the Unites States Naval Reserves and was activated during the Vietnam War. He farmed on the family farm where he enjoyed raising cattle, rat terrier dogs and most recently cats. He continued to visit his former puppies and their new owners. Richard also enjoyed playing cards and corresponding and visiting with his USS Whitfield LST 1169 groups. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the VFW #3704.

Richard is survived by his brother: Ron of Grand Island, 2 nieces: Melissa Randone of Grand Island and Dr. Elizabeth Ziemba-Colsen of Glenwood, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
