Richard E. Westerbuhr was born April 29, 1945 in Julesburg, Colorado to Richard and Cashmier (Palu) Westerbuhr Sr. At an early age he moved with his family to the Columbus area. He was married to Barbara Dietrich. He worked as a mill wright and most recently at Columbus Metal Industries.

Sister: Elva (Leland) Osten of Lincoln, NE

Brother: Gerald Westerbuhr of Colorado,
Grandson: Cole Westerbuhr of Columbus, NE
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dora Lorsung.
