Richard "Rick" Swanson

Richard Charles "Rick" Swanson, age 69, of Genoa, died Monday, December 30, 2024, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Genoa. Visitation is Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will continue from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial is in Valley View Cemetery.

Richard "Rick" Swanson was born September 28, 1955, to Alfred and Florence (Christensen) Swanson in Genoa. He attended and graduated from Genoa High School in 1973. He then worked at the grain elevator in Genoa, Lindsay Manufacturing, and for Ed Johnson. Rick enjoyed hunting, watching his grandkids participate in sports and going to livestock sales.
Rick was a friend to many. He enjoyed drinking a cold beer with his friends and eating a slice of coconut cream pie any chance he could. He also loved his dog, Harley, and taking care of his cows.
