Richard Longnecker Sr.

Richard "Dick" Longnecker Sr. of Columbus, died peacefully surrounded by his family, Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Richard "Dick" Longnecker Sr. was born April 23, 1934 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Joseph and Fannie (Gibbs) Longnecker. He grew up in the Winside area and graduated from Winside High School.He served in the United States Air Force. Dick married Janet Schultz on July 29, 1958 in Vermillion, South Dakota. He moved to Columbus in 1958 where he worked at Nielson Chevrolet, City of Columbus as an auxiliary police officer and most recently as security at ADM.
