Richard Rothanzl

Richard Rothanzl of Columbus died Monday, November 22, 2021 in Columbus.

Visitation is on Friday, November 26 from 4-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home. Private family graveside services with Military Honors will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend.  Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Columbus Community Hospital to the attention of Jody Willison, 3005 19th St, Columbus, NE 68601.

Richard F. Rothanzl was born January 25, 1947 in Omaha to Frank A and Rose (Kahnen) Rothanzl. He grew up in Crescent, IA, Louisville, and North Bend where he attended North Bend High School. Following high school, Richard entered the US Army where he was stationed in Fort Monmouth, NJ until 1968 when he transferred to the Reserves. He married Donna J. French on February 11, 1966 in Schuyler. Through the years, Richard worked for Western Homes, Legband Transfer, Glodowski Trucking, L&L Lumber, and at Douglas and Lomason. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and woodworking.
