Richard "Dick" Micek of Columbus died Monday, August 19, 2019, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 am Saturday, August 24 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. Visitation is on Friday from 5-7 pm with a 7:00 pm Vigil service to follow, all at St. Stanislaus Church. Visitation continues Saturday morning from 9-10 am at the church. Interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery with Military Honors by Silver Creek American Legion Post #263.
Dick was born May 21, 1931 in Columbus to Alois and Anna (Iwan) Micek. He graduated from Duncan High School. He served in the US Army with the combat engineers during Korea. On September 26, 1959 he married Teresa Stopak at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Krakow near Genoa. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage together. He farmed near Columbus.
Dick was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Duncan where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and served on the finance committee, parish council, and as an usher at church. He enjoyed fishing, old western movies, and spending time with his family. Dick was a member of the Knights of Columbus-Council 938, VFW post 3704, lifetime member of Columbus Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion Post 263-Silver Creek.
