Richard Baney of Columbus died Sunday, January 16, 2022 in Omaha.

Funeral Services are 11:30 am January 28, 2022, at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with Rev. Cory Burma officiating. Visitation is on Thursday, January 27 from 5-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home and continues on Friday from 10:30 am until service time.

Richard Baney was born November 9, 1951, in Benkelman, NE to Waldo Everett and Donna Leigh (Zieke) Baney. He grew up in Benkelman until moving to Arizona where he attended high school. Rich moved between Kansas and Nebraska where he worked as a Diesel Mechanic. Rich "RB" loved being on two wheels. He loved motorcycle racing and helping his brother's stock car racing team. Rich loved being outdoors with his camera, photographing nature and wildlife. Keeping in touch with family and friends through social media was a way that Rich enjoyed passing time.
