Reynold "Rey" A Wicks, 82 of Columbus, died Wednesday September 12, 2001 at Columbus Community Hospital.
Funeral Services at 10:30 AM Saturday September 15, 2001 at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus, with Fr. Chris Grimmond officiating. Burial is at St. Bonaventure Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation is Friday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am until service time all at McKown Funeral Home.
Reynold was born July 4, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York to Charles and Lillian (Keyes) Wicks. He lived in Brooklyn until World War II when he joined the U.S. Army Air Corp., serving in Italy. He married Verla M. McDermott on August 8, 1945 in Clovis, New Mexico. He worked as a truck driver for Union Pacific Railroad Motor Frieght in Nebraska and Colorado until his retirement. They lived in Central Nebraska & Denver, Colorado before retiring to Columbus in 1981. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Denver and Columbus. He also was a active union member.
