Reynold L. Bitter, age 90, of Columbus died Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.
Reynold "Curly" Bitter was born October 23, 1923 in Monroe, Nebraska to George and Katherine (Herman) Bitter. He grew up on the Monroe area. Curly served in the South Pacific during WWII on the Destroyer USS Haggard from 1943 to 1945. After his discharge from the Navy he lived in Pasadena, California. In 1947 he returned to Nebraska where he worked at Behlen Mfg. for 39 years. Reynold married Cecelia P. Tworek on December 31, 1947 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. His hobby was collecting farms toys and semi trailer trucks. He loved to saw fire wood, build bird houses, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Curly always had a smile for everyone.
