Rex Graham ,88, passed away on March 23rd, 2010 at his home in Silver Creek. He was born on November 29, 1921, to Sidney and Colie (Brooks) Graham in Silver Creek on the family farm south of Silver Creek. He attended Silver Creek Public School and graduated in May, 1939. Rex married his best friend and the love of his life, Lillie Margaret (Dittmer) on December 19, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona. Shortly after this marriage he entered the US Army in January 1948 and was a member of the T.S. Corp 844 in TN AVN BN. He served in Scotland, France, Austria and Germany from January, 1943 to 1945 during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 18, 1945, and returned to his hometown of Silver Creek to his family where he lived for the rest of his life with his loving wife and seven children. He worked at Grosch Irrigation and Behlen Manufacturing from 1958 to 1971 as a welder and then established Rex Graham Service. Making his garage his shop where he purchased and sold lawn mowers, specialized in small engine and chainsaw repairs. This fantastic father of seven, created many motorized go carts, hot rod garden tractors and 2 wheel vehicles for his children to play on during their childhood. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving on the church board, Silver Creek Township board, VFW, American Legion Post 263, Cemetery board, and a volunteer fire fighter for the Silver Creek Fire Department. Rex enjoyed the music of Lawrence Welk, Glenn Miller and Lonnie Lynn, and would always attend a local dance when ever the opportunity arose. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends the most. On April 24, 2009, Rex was chosen to attend the Heartland Honor Flight to Washington, DC, for World War II veterans.

The celebration of his life will be at the Silver Creek United Methodist Church in Silver Creek on March 27, 2010. At 2:00 p.m.
