Regina Mae Egger

Regina Mae Egger of Columbus died Friday, February 9, 2024.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Thursday, February 15 at St. Isidore Catholic Church.  Visitation is on Wednesday from 4-6 pm with a 6:00 pm Vigil service at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.  Visitation continues on Thursday morning from 9:30 am until service time at the church.  Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, plants, statues, plaques, the family strongly encourages memorials to St. Isidore School or the Parish Center.

Regina Mae Egger was born July 16, 1926 in Columbus to W.C. and Violinda (Liebig) Ebner. Regina was raised in Columbus and graduated from St. Bonaventure Schools in 1944.  On September 2, 1947, Regina was united in marriage to Herbert E. Egger.  Regina raised her family and did clerical work for Gerhold's for 23 years before retiring in 1988. She was a founding member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and volunteered at the school.  Regina was very strong with her faith, enjoyed praying the rosary (sometimes several times a day) and had a strong affection for Mary.

Regina enjoyed playing cards, baking, sewing, watching the birds (especially cardinals), quilting, and a special little backyard friend "Squirrly" who ate out of her hand.  Regina also loved holiday gatherings with her family. Visits from grandchildren would light up her day.  She would always enjoy taking bus trips with friends, going to the casinos.
