Obituary

Raymond Zelazny age 77, died Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Lincoln.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek. Fr. Mark Tomasiewicz will be the celebrant. Visitation is Monday August 17, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. There will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by The American Legion Post #263-Silver Creek

Ray was born on April 18, 1949 to Edward and Frances (Bialas) Zelazny. He grew up on the family farm in Polk County and received his education at Clarks High School. Ray served in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, The American Legion, The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights Of Columbus.

He enjoyed his Faith, family and friends along with hunting, fishing and helping other with various handy tasks.

He is survived by his brother Jerry (Kathleen) Zelazny and many nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces and great great nieces and great great nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Frances, siblings: Maxine (Felix) Tomasiewicz and Reginald Zelazny.
