Phyllis Nicolas age 89, of Columbus, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.
Phyllis M. Nicolas was born July 16, 1926 in Shelby, Nebraska to Matthew and Marie (Skidmore) Glatter. She graduated from Shelby High in 1944. Phyllis married Joseph Nicolas on November 26, 1946 in Shelby. They farmed southwest of Bellwood. Phyllis also worked for 21 years at D&L. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and making clothes for the children. In 1994 they moved into Columbus. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and a past member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Bellwood.

son: Greg Nicolas of Bellwood
daughter: Linda (Tony) Masek of Lincoln
daughter: Susan Nicolas of Phoenix, AZ
son: Michael (Karen) Nicolas of Virginia Beach, VA
8 Grandchildren: Chad, Andrea, Alicia, Matt, Craig, Christopher, Amanda, Aaron

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter: Patricia, brothers: Wallace, Thomas, Richard
