Peggy Caley, age 92, died Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Genoa Community Hospital.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation is Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m., at McKown Funeral Home.

Peggy Caley was born April 20, 1933 in Greeley, CO to Paul and Edna (Newlon) Wells. Peggy grew up in Greeley, Colorado. She went on to receive her education at UNL, where she met her first husband L. Clark Caley. To this union, Chris and Cathleen joined the family. She later married Jim Thede in the mountains of Colorado. Peggy enjoyed bowling, golf, and writing poetry. She had a couple of poems included in the National Library of Poetry. She also enjoyed spending time with her family- especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by:

Son- Chris (Peggy) Caley of Silver Creek

Daughter- Cathleen Swedenburg of rural Stromsburg

Grandchildren- Caley Carlson of Lincoln, Curtis (Cara) Swedenburg of rural Polk, Cole Swedenburg of Lincoln, Candice Swedenburg of Lincoln, Christina (Aaron) Patton of Wichita, KS.
