Pauline T. Smith of Silver Creek, Nebraska died Monday, June 16, 2003 at Genoa Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday June 19, 2003 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek with Reverend Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Burial is in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Silver Creek. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until service time also at the church.

Pauline Dush Smith was born June 29, 1916 in Duncan, Nebraska to Joseph and Kathryn (Mostek) Dush. She attended school at St. Stanislaus School in Duncan. She married Robert E. Smith on September 1, 1939 in Duncan. She lived in California until returning to Columbus where they were involved with family business, Smith's Dairy. In 1950 they moved to the dairy farm near Silver Creek where she lived until moving to Heritage House in Columbus in 1996. In 1997 she moved to Genoa Long Term Care where she has lived since. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek, Altar Society, Omaha Archdiocese Catholic Women, A.P.C., Rural Southwest Deanery where she had served as Legislative Chairman, Pro Life Chairman, past Scotus School Board member, 4-H and Extension Service volunteer and a past recipient of the Good Neighbor Award through AKSARBEN.

17 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren
