Paul worked as a professional horse trainer, over the road truck driver and worked with his family in the industrial painting profession working on navy ships. He also did carpentry, roofing and remodeling. Paul married Tammy Blumenthal on May 18, 2009 in Schuyler, Nebraska. He enjoyed woodcrafting.
