Pastor M. Wendell Davis of Columbus, NE died Monday, October 25, 2021, at David Place in David City.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Friday, October 29, 2021, at First United Methodist Church in Columbus. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Church. Private Interment will be at Columbus Cemetery.

Mervin Wendell Davis was born December 14, 1931 on a farm North of Cambridge, NE to Elmer and Anna (Colvert) Davis. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1949 he went on to attend Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa graduating in 1953. Wendell married Barb Poppert on June 6, 1954 in Cambridge, NE. Wendell went on to attend the Evangelical Theological Seminary (Garrett) in Naperville, IL and was ordained an Elder in 1959 in York, NE. Wendell served several churches throughout his ministry. His appointments included the Churches in Merna from 54-56, Fairhaven & Malvern, IL from 56-59, Holstein & Kenesaw Presbyterian from 59-62, Westridge EUB in Norfolk & Hoskins from 62-65, Westridge EUB in Norfolk from 65-68, Faith UMC in Kearney from 68-76, North Platte FUMC from 76-84, Grace UMC in Hastings from 84-86, FUMC in Scottsbluff from 86-90 and the First United Methodist Church in Columbus in 1990 until retiring in 1996. He also served as interim Pastor at St. Luke's-UCC in Columbus and at the Methodist Churches in Monroe, Fullerton, and David City-Bellwood.

Daughter Pam (Ron) Range of Monroe
4 Grandchildren: Amber (Nick) White, Tara Behrendsen, Lindsay Range, and Ryan Range
4 Great Grandchildren: Pierce White, Reagan White, Joss Behrendsen, and Nyah Behrendsen
Brother-in-law Ron (Irene) Poppert of Washington
