Norman Michener of Columbus died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Columbus Community Hospital.
Norman D. Michener was born March 4, 1928 in Gresham, Nebraska to Wesley and Helen (Holzapfel) Michener. He attended grade school in Gresham and high school in Stromsburg. Norman married Betty Jean Jones on October 31, 1949 at Swede Home Lutheran Church near Stromsburg. The couple lived in that area until moving to Columbus in 1957. Norman worked for Roberts Dairy and then delivered milk for Gillette Dairy. In 1972 he went to work for Soil Movers until retiring. Norman was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts, gardening, listening to polka music and dancing until his health became poor.
