Norma Aikins, age 90, died Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Emerald Care and Rehab.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation is Friday from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service, all at the church. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Norma J. Aikins was born July 5, 1932, in Tarnov, Nebraska to Dennis and Clara (Korus) Paprocki. She attended District 60 grade school and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1950. Following graduation, Norma moved to Columbus, where she began working for Dale's Electronics. She later co-owned Larrell's Camera and Sound Center and worked at the racetrack as a teller for many years. She was a member St. Anthony Church, St. Michael Historical Society and was a former member of the Nebraska Horse Racing Association. She owned and managed several thoroughbred racing horses over the years. Norma enjoyed horse racing, gardening, fishing with the grandkids on the lake, and football especially the Broncos and Vikings. She loved animals, and fondly welcomed in several stray cats over the years. Norma loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
