Norbert Kuta of Platte Center, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Norbert J. "Nobby" Kuta was born January 3, 1934 in Tarnov, Nebraska to Tom and Mamie (Zoucha) Kuta. He attended St. Michael's School in Tarnov and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis High School in 1951. Norbert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from February 1953 - January 1955. On January 19, 1963 Norbert was united in marriage to Georgia Anderson at St. Josephs Church in Platte Center. He farmed in the Platte Center area and worked at the Co-op for 26 years. Following his retirement Norbert worked security and umpired baseball and softball. Norbert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center. He enjoyed fishing, playing baseball and softball in his younger years and following the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Boston Celtics and Nebraska sports.
