Neoma Mae Goodman, age 89, a resident of Columbus, Nebraska passed away February 15, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with the family receiving friends from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Lunch will be immediately following at Wunderlich's Catering in Columbus.
Neoma was born in Norfolk, Madison County on March 25, 1936, the daughter of Samuel and Hazel (Kimball) Bussey. She married Arthur (Bob) Robert Goodman on July 29, 1953 and he survives.
Mrs. Goodman was a 1953 graduate of Norfolk High School. She was a founding member of The Rolling Promenaders, a roller-skating square dance troupe that toured around eastern Nebraska. She loved reading books and playing cards with her friends and enemies. Along with Bob and her children, the family enjoyed many camping and fishing trips at Lake North in Columbus teaching kids to water-ski. When their children were all grown they would spend weeks in their motorhome at Lake McConaughy fishing. Neoma will be remembered for her joy, her kindness, her curiosity, her dedication to family, the warmth she brought to her home, the legacy of love she instilled in her children, her collection of carousel horses, and her oatmeal raisin cookies.
In addition to her husband Arthur, Neoma Goodman is survived by two sons, Steven (Dawn) Goodman of Pender, and Gary (Terri) Goodman of Aurora, Colorado, a daughter, Bonnie (Mark) Keller, of Columbus, a nephew Gordy (Penny) Goodman of Broken Bow; eight grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Goodman of Littleton, Colorado, Amy (Josh) Kavan of Eagle, Aaron Goodman of Pender, Alyson Goodman of Denver, Colorado, Ethan Goodman of Denver, Colorado, Robin (Todd) Spark of Omaha, Jillyan (Nick) Schliech of Columbus, Katie Keller of Columbus; sixteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
