Myrtle A. Bivens, age 85, of Silver Creek died Monday; May 20, 2002 at Litzenburg Memorial Hospital in Central City. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday; May 23, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek, Nebraska. The Reverend Bev Minor will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McKown Funeral Home in Silver Creek. Visitation will continue Thursday 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
Myrtle A. Bivens was born November 15, 1916 near Genoa, Nebraska to Theodore W. and Hattie (Lutzke) Blair. She received her early education at rural district #30 in Nance County. In 1934 she graduated from Genoa High School. She married Carl H. Bivens on December 31, 1939 in Archer, Nebraska. Along with raising her family she worked at Dale Electronics in Columbus for 20 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek where she was active with the U.M.W. and Bible study class.
