Myron J. Johnson, age 81, of Columbus died Monday, March 12, 2007 at his home. Funeral services are 10:30 am Friday, March 16, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Reverend Del Lape officiating. Visitation is 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Anthony Church. Visitation will continue Friday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time also at the church. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to the family choice.
Myron was born May 21,1925 in Columbus, Nebraska to Phillip and Bertha (Ebner) Johnson. He attended St. Bonaventure School. On February 12, 1952 he married Marie Sleddens at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. He farmed all his life and formerly held a private pilot license. Myron served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He held the Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry, Purple Heart for wounds received in battle while in Germany, Bronze Star and the Victory Medal. Myron was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, life member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and the D.A.V. He was also a member of the Columbus Antique and Gas Engine Club.

Sister: Mary Ann (Al) Micek of Lincoln, NE
Brother: Dwayne (Toodie) Johnson of Columbus, NE
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Phyllis Moore.
