Minnie White

Minnie White age 94, of Columbus, died Monday, October 16, 2023, in Omaha.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation is Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service, all at McKown Funeral Home. There will be a CDA rosary held prior to the visitation at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Burial is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Minnie Ellen White was born April 18, 1929, to Florian and Balbina (Zoucha) Placzek in Tarnov, NE.  She attended St. Michael's school in Tarnov and after moving to Columbus with her family, she attended St. Anthony's school and graduated from Kramer High School. Minnie worked as a waitress and then as a cook most of her life. She lived in Washington and California. While living in California, Minnie worked at Knotts Berry Farm.
On October 4, 1969, Minnie was united in marriage to Glenn White in Columbus. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Theresa Sodality and Catholic Daughters of America. She was on the church cleaning committee, perpetual adoration, and Rosary leader. Minnie loved to garden and do yard work. She also enjoyed baking and cooking, playing cards, horse racing and spending time with her friends and family.
Words cannot describe how truly beautiful a person Minnie was. She was very warm, giving, and kind. She cherished her Catholic Faith dearly. Minnie's greatest treasure in life was her son, Clifford (also known as Kip). She was a wonderful and special mother, grandmother and aunt who will be truly missed by her family and friends. Her smile and laughter will be unforgettable.
