Milton Langan, 79, of Columbus died Thursday June 19, 2003 at his home. Funeral services are 10:30 am Monday June 23, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Timothy White officiating. Visitation begins on Sunday from 4-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home and continues Monday morning from 9:30 am until service time at the Church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 am Monday, also at the Church. Burial will be in Columbus Cemetery with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.

Milton Langan was born January 27, 1924 in Platte Center, Nebraska to Michael and Minnie (Kamm) Langan. He grew up in Platte Center and graudated from Platte Center High School. He entered and served in the U.S. Army during WWII from March 24, 1943 - February 12, 1946. On March 10, 1946 Milt married Geraldine Schmidt to whom he was married for 57 years. In his lifetime he worked on Railway Express for Union Pacific Railroad, he owned and operated the Sunset Superette and Potters/Langan grocery stores, worked for Gerhold Concrete, sold real estate for Becher Curry, served as Platte County Clerk for 14 1/2 years, and had a saw sharpening business for 19 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartman Post #84 American Legion, and the VFW Post #3704.

He is survived by:

Five Grandchildren
Two Great Grandchildren
