Mildred died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Mildred Edith Jewel was born June 5, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas to Ada Martha Jewel and Fred Rogers. After she was born Mildred was placed in the Beatrice Children's Home where she lived there until moving to Columbus as an adult. Mildred lived with various families in Columbus where she helped out in their homes. She lived at Heritage House in her later years before moving to the Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mildred was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed music and playing her harmonica.
