Michael L. Mazankowski (July 15,1949 - March 31, 2024)

Michael "Mike" Mazankowski, age 74, of Columbus, died, March 31, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2024, at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is Sunday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. vigil service, all at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment is in All Saints Cemetery.

Michael Leon Mazankowski was born July 15,1949 in Sherman County Nebraska to Lawrence & Caroline (Wardyn) Mazankowski. He attended grade school and graduated from Loup City High School. Michael then attended Kearney State College and received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1972 and later his Master's Degree. He worked for Nebraska Public Power District for 46 years. In 1968, Michael was united in marriage to Arlene Lonowski, his high school sweetheart and soulmate. To this union, he was blessed with three sons, Dave, Scott, and Eric. Through the years, Michael coached the O'Neill Little League Baseball Team, was active in the O'Neill and Columbus Jaycees and belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council #938. He enjoyed watching his sons play sports and later his grandkids. He will be remembered as a kind, caring person who was always ready to help. He enjoyed traveling, polka dancing, fishing, bicycling, playing cards, fixing anything that was broke, and spending time with his family and friends, especially spending time with his two little great granddaughters.

Amber Mazankowski (Lonny Cox) of Omaha, Ne.

Maverick Farr of San Diego, CA Brooke Farr of San Diego, CA Great Grandchildren: Blakeley and Brookley Dickes Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
