Michael J. Kosch of Columbus died Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
Michael Joseph Kosch was born on March 12, 1969 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Thomas and Linda (Zach) Kosch. He grew up on a farm south of Humphrey. Mike attended and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis in 1987. He then went to Northeast Community College in Norfolk for Ag Business. On November 17, 1990 Mike married his high school sweetheart Cindy (Wemhoff) Kosch at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. In this union, Mike and Cindy had 5 children: Emily (23), Anthony (20), Courtney (18), Caleb (18), and Rebecca (12). The couple lived in Humphrey for 9 years where Mike sold seed for Sands of Iowa and Crows Seed. They moved to Columbus where Mike built his career with the Knights of Columbus and was a Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. He was a faithful servant of the church involved with CEC, JC Camp, and Fun Day. He led rosaries, served and cleaned at St. Anthonys Church, and was also an American Red Cross donor. Mike loved to laugh and make others laugh with his practical jokes and quick wit. Mike enjoyed golfing, playing cards (he was a cardshark!), bonfires and spending time with family and friends. He especially took pride in watching his children in all their activities.
