Melvin Jisa, age 87, of Columbus died Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Morys Haven in Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 am Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Swanton officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation is on Monday from 5-6 pm with a 6:00 pm Vigil service, all at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30 am, also at the funeral home. Interment is in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Brainard.
Melvin Ludvik Jisa was born April 9,1932 in Butler County to Ludvik and Mary (Bohaty) Jisa. He grew up in Garrison and graduated from David City High School in 1951. Melvin served in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 until 1955.
Melvin lived in Chicago and the Dallas/Ft Worth area where he worked for Braniff Airlines for 28 years. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
