Maynard died Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Maynard I. Higgins was born August 22, 1911 in Riverdale, Nebraska to John and Dora (Willard) Higgins. He grew up and worked in the Kearney area until his retirement. On April 22, 1934 Maynard was united in marriage to Letha J. Fox in Kearney. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from July 1943 - September 1945. In 1977 the couple retired and moved to Columbus. He was a member of the American Legion Club and the V.F.W. Club in Kearney.
