Maxine Graham, age 80, of Columbus died Monday; March 15, 2004 at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday; March 18, 2004 at the McKown Funeral Home. Chaplain Bill Forbes will officiate. Visitation is Wednesday 4-7 p.m. and Thursday 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery.

Maxine Graham was born May 11, 1923 in Columbus, Nebraska to Harley and Johanna (Abts) Wood. She was raised in Randolph, Nebraska where she received her education. She was married to Forrest L. Graham on November 20, 1943 in Mankato, Kansas. She returned to Columbus in 1946. Along with raising her family she worked at the bus station, Dale Electronics and as a waitress. She also made draperies for many years and did volunteer work with the ARC. Maxine spent the last 10 years of her life at the Veterans Home Home in Grand Island. She enjoyed listening to music, going to dances and playing bingo every week.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Son: Vernon, sister: Marie Bruckner and sister: Phyllis Shipman.
