Max Wunderlich, 73, of Arizona City, Arizona died peacefully on June 1, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Wunderlich was born on Feb. 26, 1941, in Columbus, Nebraska to Max and Monica Wunderlich. He married Sharon K. Messersmith on Aug. 7, 1958. They lived in Columbus until 1986, when they moved to Arizona.
A construction company owner, he made friends easily and was known for sharing his wit and a genuine interest. He filled the lives of others with love and laughter and delivered insights with ease and humor. He had many passions, especially his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, the stock market and politics.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Tim Wunderlich of Mesa, Max (Brenda) Wunderlich III of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Steve (Jacque) Wunderlich and Paul Wunderlich of Columbus; four daughters, Debbie (Chris) Wunderlich-Adelman and Tami (Tom) Wunderlich-Williams of Columbus, Susanne (Ivan) Wunderlich-Krula of Rogers, Nebraska, and Teri (Dave) Wunderlich-Menke of Chandler, Arizona; a brother, Fred Wunderlich of Columbus; four sisters, Monica Becher of Columbus, Julie Payzant of Omaha, Nebraska, Janice Nosal of Fremont, Nebraska, and Louise Smith of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Max and Monica Wunderlich, a granddaughter, Jamie Wunderlich and daughter in law Lori Wunderlich.
