Max Young Jr.

Max Young Jr., age 84, died Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk.

Graveside services with Military Honors by the American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Columbus Cemetery. Friends and members of the Legion Riders are invited to meet at McKown Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. to form an honorary procession to the Cemetery.

Max Young Jr. was born May 25, 1941, in Fort Dodge, IA to Max Sr. and LaVera (Johnson) Young. He grew up in Plainview, Tilden and Adkinson, where he graduated from high school in 1961. Max went on to attend Norfolk Jr. College. In 1964, he was drafted into the US Army, where he served his country during the Vietnam War until his discharge in 1966. Max worked several jobs over the years until his retirement from Appleton in 2003. Max enjoyed his Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was a member of the American Legion and the Legion Riders for many years.
