Mavis Corinne Waldman ("Corinne"), age 105, of Lenexa, KS (formerly of Columbus & Lincoln, NE), passed away on January 29, 2025, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Services at the Federated Church will be held at 11:00 a.m. March 21, 2025. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. March 21 at the church. Burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to Federated Church, Columbus, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to Lakeview Village, Lenexa, KS, or Federated Church, Columbus, NE.
She was born on September 24, 1919, to Walter Hugo Hoecker and Mary Beulah (Lent) Hoecker at St. Joseph, MO.
She graduated from Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, took some college classes at the junior college there, and then met Sgt. Walter Edward Waldman at a USO dance at Ft. Leavenworth. They were married on December 15, 1946. During their married life, they lived in Chicago, IL, Columbus, NE; Wichita, KS; Glendora, CA and Lincoln, NE, with the majority of their married years in Nebraska.
Most important to Corinne were her family, books, flowers/houseplants, embroidery, music, and her faith.
She is survived by her loving children Regina C. Wiley, Theron E. (Laura) Waldman, Janice L. (Neal) Hodgkin, and Carol A. (Jim) Trouba, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Corinne was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, sister, and brother.
