Mary Jo Stenger of Norfolk, died Saturday, December 9, 2017.

Mary Jo was born on March 03, 1939. She was the fourth child of William and Angela (Borer) Stenger. She was baptized in Holy Family Catholic Church on March 8, 1939.
Mary Jo attended St. Bernard School in grades 1 & 2 and then attended Holy Family School until graduation in 1957. After she graduated she was employed by Sacred Heart Hospital in Lynch, Nebraska. In 1968 she moved to Norfolk and was employed at the Faith Regional Hospital until she retired in 2004. Mary Jo was an active member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross, meals on wheels and a faithful attendant of perpetual adoration and was very active in the prayer chain program at Sacred Heart/St. Marys Parish in Norfolk. She loved visiting with friends and family, bowling, playing cards and she was an avid reader. Her many nieces and nephews always looked forward to receiving a birthday and Christmas gift every year from Aunt Mary Jo.

Preceding Mary Jo in death are her parents, three sisters Mary Jane, Jacqueline, Madonna, two brothers Richard and Adrian, one brother-in-law Gary Boettcher, niece Brenda Ramaekers and nephew Douglas Engelbert and great-nephew Dylan Stenger.

Mary Jo is survived by four sisters, Kathleen Boettcher of Casa Grande, AZ, Janice (Gene) Engelbert of Columbus, Bonita (Paul) Ramaekers of Humphrey, Diane (Bill) Tworek of Columbus, three brothers, William (Bernice) of Bellevue, Glenn (Dee) of Gretna, Daniel (Carolynne) of Lindsay, sister-in-law Marilyn Stenger of Omaha and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Jo will be buried next to her parents in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Lindsay Ne.
