Mary Shevlin, of Columbus, died July 16, 2026, in Elkhorn, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026 at St. Isidore Church. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m., followed by a 7:30 p.m. Vigil service, all occurring at the Church. Private interment is in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha at a later date.

Mary Shevlin was born November 23, 1945, in Parkston, South Dakota to Homer and Helen (Degen) Garvis. She grew up in Ethan, SD where she attended elementary school and graduated from Ethan High School. She married Pat Shevlin on November 13, 1965 in Ethan, SD.

Mary was adored by everyone she knew and met. Mary was a registered organ donor and her final acts of giving will help save lives and positively impact many people in need across the state of Nebraska. Mary’s acts offer hope, healing, and a chance for the recipients to continue their lives and dreams.

Mary was a nurse for many years before joining the family business. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Grandchildren: Kara (Nathan) Lilienthal, Dan (Cruz) Andresen, Chase (Shania) Andresen

Son: Kurt (Kim) Shevlin

Grandchildren: Mollie (Tom) Rambour, Emily (Hank) Holiday, Belinda Andresen, Maclain (Sierra) Shevlin, EllaMay Shevlin, Maggie Shevlin, Eddie Shevlin.
