Mary L. Ryba, 94, of Columbus died Monday October 8 at Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 10:30 am Thursday, October 11 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:30 am until service time at the Church. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Duncan.
Mary L. Ryba was born November 2, 1906 in Loup City, NE to John and Eva (Drozd) Czarnek. On September 22, 1929 she was united in marriage to Leo Ryba in Loup City. The couple lived and farmed near Duncan. Mary was a homemaker and a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan.
Mary is survived by one son, Emil (Glenda) Ryba of Columbus and one daughter Dee Bowman of Columbus. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Joann, son Lawrence, seven brothers and six sisters.
