Obituary

Mary McQuinn, age 71, died Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at her home in Genoa.

A Celebration of Mary's Faith and Life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Space in Genoa. A reception with refreshments will follow at the Pawnee Senior Center.
Mary decided to write her own obituary so everyone could know her story after she passed away:

My service is to be a celebration, not just a celebration of my life here on earth, but to celebrate my homegoing.

I want it to be a joyous time because I have gone home to be with my Lord and Savior.

You haven't lost me because you know I am in heaven. I made the decision to have Christ be my Savior and Lord so I know I will have eternal life in heaven. I am not dead, because of that I want people to wear green clothing at my coronation service- a symbol of life!

I was born in Conrad, IA on June 28th, 1954, to Wilfred Arther, Sr and Doris Elaine (Coulter) Dickenson. I was their fifth child of six children.

I spent my first ten years of my life on a farm by LeRoy, Minnesota except for one year when my parents moved to Merrill WI to manage a hotel. When I was in 4th grade my family left the farm and moved to Austin, MN. I spent most of my childhood at Austin except for 8th grade in Niagara, Wisconsin and the first half of 10th grade in Huntsville, AL. I became a born-again Christian at the age of 17.
