Mary Kerkman

Mary Kerkman, age 34, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday April 3, 2002 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 6, 2002 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Burial is in the Ss. Patrick/Joseph Cemetery near Platte Center, Nebraska. Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Friday with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Isidore Church. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time, also at the church. Memorials may be made to the Mary Kerkman Memorial Fund.

Mary B. Kerkman was born December 27, 1967 in Norfolk to Victor and Lorraine (Rynaski) Kathol. She received her early education at St. Boniface School in Elgin and graduated from Pope John High School in 1985. She attended St. Mary's College in Omaha and the University of Nebraska-Kearney. On July 11, 1987 she married Doug Kerkman at St. Boniface Church in Elgin.


Mary lived in Elgin before moving to Columbus in 1996. She worked the past 6 years at Double O Trucking where she was currently the Business Manager. She was a member of St. Isidore Church, the Nebraska Trucking Association, and the YMCA.
