Mary Hawthorne

Mary E. Hawthorne, age 87, of Silver Creek, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Bryan LGH-East.

Mary E. Hawthorne was born January 14, 1930 in Genoa, Nebraska to Benjamin and Carolyn (Theel) Killham. She grew up in Nance County and graduated from Fullerton High in 1949. She married Merrill T. Hawthorne on February 21, 1949 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They lived in Fullerton until 1957 when they moved to Silver Creek. Mary worked at B-D for 27 years until her retirement in 1990. She carried the Columbus Telegram and World Herald for 10 years with her granddaughter and also did in home health care. She a life time member of the United Methodist Church.

daughter: Merlene (Lauren) Burg of Silver Creek
son: Mikeal (Vicki) Hawthorne of Central City
daughter: Margie Castle of Fremont
13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by:
husband: Merrill Hawthorne
parents: Ben & Carolyn Killham
brothers: Duane, Robert, Ray, Allen and Vernon in infancy
sisters: Gertrude Keith and Glennys Bosak
