Mary Ann Bialas, age 71, of Columbus, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Fremont.
Mary Ann Bialas was born March 27, 1947 in Genoa, Nebraska to Lawrence and Maxine (Zimmerman) Choyeski. She attended country school west of Belgrade and St. Anthonys Catholic School in Cedar Rapids through the 8th grade. In 1965 she graduated from Cedar Rapids High School. Mary Ann then completed 4 years of college in St. Catherine, Kentucky. Mary Ann taught in Lincoln, Nebraska before returning to Cedar Rapids where she went to work for the Boone County Health and Human Services in Albion, Nebraska. On August 18, 1973 Mary Ann was united in marriage to Richard L. Bialas at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Mary Ann taught in Lincoln, rural Fullerton, Silver Creek and then with the E.S.U. #7 as a vision consultant in Columbus until retiring in 2012. She enjoyed gardening and playing bingo.
