Mary Anne Andreasen Peterson

Mary Anne Andreasen Peterson, 81, of Genoa passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Genoa Medical Facilities in Genoa. A Memorial Service for Mary Anne will be held at 10:30 a.m.  Saturday, September 2, at the United Methodist Church in Genoa. A private family burial will be held in Valley View Cemetery.

Mary Anne was born February 18, 1936 in Genoa to Orville and Anna (Lowe) Taylor. She married Veryl Andreasen on May 28, 1955 at the Methodist Church in Genoa. Veryl passed away on October 11, 1996. To this union three children were born. On August 23, 1997, Mary Anne married Richard Peterson at the Genoa United Methodist Church in Genoa. Richard passed away on March 14, 2011. Mary Anne was a member of the Genoa United Methodist Church and the Genoa American Legion Auxilary. She loved taking care of others and lived for her family and friends.

Mary Anne is survived by a son Rick (Barb) Andreasen of Genoa, daughters Deanna (Tom) Spulak of Genoa, and Lori (Alan) Werner of St. Edward, stepchildren Peggy Ternes, of Arizona  and Keven (Kim) Peterson of Omaha; sisters: Helen McMartin of Mesa, AZ and Becky (Kevin) Francis Kretz of Genoa; brothers Martin Taylor of Duncan, Ted (Judy) Taylor of Thedford, NE, and Edward (Carol) Taylor of Prescott Valley, AZ; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren , and  1 great great grandchild. In addition Mary Anne is survived by her sister-in-law Arline Raitt of Genoa and brother-in-law Mark Baue of Wausa, NE.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Veryl and Dick, brothers John, Jim and Chester, and sister Rachel Baue.

Memorials are suggested to the Genoa Rescue Squad or the Genoa Medical Facilities.
