Marvin Wilcox

Marvin Wilcox, 91, of Silver Creek died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Genoa Community Hospital. Funeral services are 10:30 am Friday, April 15 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek with the Rev. Bev Hieb officiating. Visitation is on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek and continues Friday morning from 9:30 until service time, also at the church. Interment is in Silver Creek Cemetery.

Marvin Leroy Wilcox was born June 7, 1913 in Polk County, Nebraska to Charles M. & Elizabeth (Wisely) Wilcox. He attended high school in Osceola. He married Marie Larson on November 30, 1935. She passed away on September 4, 1953. He married Grace (Campain) Reed on April 5, 1956. Marvin worked for G.W. Grosch before farming in Polk and Merrick Counties. He went on to manage the Haven's Elevator before returning to G.W. Grosch from 1953 until his retirement in the mid '80's. Marvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and crossword puzzles.
